Il giardino è stato costruito da Federico Stibbert intorno al 1870. Nato a Firenze nel 1838 da una ricca famiglia anglosassone ed educato in Inghilterra lo Stibbert restaura la Villa di Montughi ed il suo giardino in stile romantico. Tipico é l'inserimento del laghetto, sulle cui rive si specchia un piccolo tempio in stile neo-egizio.

Federico Stibbert was born in 1838 in a rich English family in Florence and was educated in England. Around 1870 he starts the restoration of Villa Montughi and of its beautiful garden in Romantic style. Tipical of the Romantic taste is the placing of a small lake where is reflected a small neo-Egyptian temple.
