Castello - Firenze

Tra il 1575 e il 1590, il Cardinale Ferdinando dei Medici, poi Granduca Ferdinando I, ordinò a Bernardo Buontalenti di modificare l'antica casa-castello esistente in villa gentilizia. I maggiori cambiamenti riguardarono il giardino, che venne trasformato nelle tre grandi terrazze sovrapposte antistanti la villa.

Between 1575 and 1590, the Cardinal Ferdinando de' Medici, then Grand Duke Ferdinando I, charged Bernardo Buontalenti with the conversion of the ancient residence castle in a noble villa. The major renovations affected the garden, which was transformed into three superimposed terraces in front of the villa.
